01

One frame, two rows

A shared central column and foundation serve both parking rows.

02

Galvanised after fabrication

Cut, drilled and welded first, then hot-dip galvanised; site touch-up available.

03

Bolted site assembly

Knocked-down frames, grade 8.8 bolts, base plates set to the column grid.

04

Module-ready purlins

Purlin spacing and clamp positions set to the module datasheet.

Overview

The double-side T-frame puts a single column line down the centre and cantilevers a rafter to each side, so one frame shelters two rows of parking bays. Because the column, base plate and foundation are shared, it is the lowest-cost layout per kW in the carport range.

Columns and rafters are fabricated from H-beam in the sections shown on the drawing, then hot-dip galvanised after cutting, drilling and welding. Purlins are set at roughly 1,600 mm to suit standard framed modules; the final module and clamping plan is confirmed before fabrication.

Typical projects are office and factory car parks, retail and logistics yards, and staff parking where two rows can run parallel to a kerb or fence line.

Workshop & site

From workshop to the parking bay

Curved and tapered frames are welded from plate, galvanised and wrapped for transport. On site the base plates are set to the column grid, frames are plumbed and bolted, then purlins and rails follow. The same crew can hand over a weather-tight canopy before modules arrive.

  • Base plate set-out and level survey
  • Anchor torque recorded per column
  • Frame plumb and diagonal check
  • Purlin spacing checked against module plan
  • Gutter fall and downpipe positions
  • Cable route and equipotential bonding
Options

What can be tailored

The frame, finish and electrical interface are set before fabrication — not adjusted on site.

Foundation

Cast-in concrete pad, chemical anchor or ground screw — set out to the column base drawing.

Bay width

Standard 2.5 m or 2.7 m bay; bay count and row length to the site plan.

Finish

Hot-dip galvanised to ISO 1461; primer or powder coat in a RAL colour on request.

Drainage

Gutter integrated in the rafter with downpipes at agreed column positions.

EV readiness

Charger brackets, cable tray and meter position prepared in the frame.

Lighting & signage

LED luminaires under the purlins; fascia panels for branding.

Questions

Common questions

What is the standard span?

2 × 6,000 mm from the central column, with a 2,900 mm eave. The 5,900 mm / 3,180 mm ridge versions are shown in the drawings above; other spans are engineered to the project load.

Concrete base or ground screw?

Both are used. Ground screws suit sites where soil conditions and pull-out tests allow; otherwise a cast concrete pad with anchor bolts is supplied to the base plate drawing.

Can the frame carry EV chargers?

Yes. Charger rails, cable tray and a riser at the column can be included — see the EV Charging Carport for the prepared version.

What do you need to quote?

Bay count and site plan, module size, wind and snow load, finish, and destination port. A drawing is issued for approval before fabrication.
